Woolf Institute: Studying relations between Jews, Christians and Muslims

The Woolf Institute offers a wide array of courses through its three Centres.

The Centre for the Study of Jewish-Christian Relations, in conjunction with the Institute of Continuing Education (University of Cambridge), delivers the University of Cambridge Master of Studies (MSt) in the Study of Jewish-Christian Relations. Since inception, 250 CJCR students have graduated with a postgraduate qualification in the study of Jewish-Christian relations, of whom 30% progressed to further studies. CJCR staff also contribute to the teaching programme of the University of Cambridge Divinity Faculty, as well as stand-alone courses for students of the Cambridge Theological Federation.

The Centre for the Study of Muslim-Jewish Relations has developed its own e-learning courses and in August 2011 launched Bridging the Great Divide: The Jewish–Muslim Encounter in partnership with the American University, Washington. CMJR staff also contribute to the teaching programme at the Cambridge Theological Federation as well as the University's Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies.

The Woolf Institute leads the way in e-learning. Together CJCR and CMJR collaborated to develop a groundbreaking e-learning course, entitled, 'Jews, Christians and Muslims in Europe: Modern Challenges', successfully launched in 2011.

Finally, The Centre for Public Education offers courses that address trilateral relations between Jews, Christians and Muslims within a wider social context. Its numerous public education programmes are specially tailored for faith communities, public-sector bodies and wider community-based groups. They are delivered through seminars, workshops and plenary sessions, and also via e-learning and are designed in consultation with individual groups.
